Symbolism: strength, wisdom, power
Known for its intelligence and great power, the Thunderbird is found in legends passed down through generations of Pacific Northwest Native Americans. Great claps of thunder and brilliant flashes of lightning were attributed to this mythological bird …hence, the name. Some of these tribes recite tales of the Thunderbird as a mysterious shapeshifter. The Thunderbird would lift and pull back his beak, much like a mask, and remove his feathers as though they were only a cape, revealing a human form underneath.
Echoing the richly symbolic Native American legend of the Thunderbird, this original hand-crafted pendant awaits to serve you. Wear it as a private, yet potent amulet symbolizing your inner strength and wisdom, or give it as a gift to someone who is in need of a gentle reminder of their own power and intelligence.
The Thunderbird pendant features translucent red acrylic riveted between the hammer-textured front and back plates, which glow with a warm, aged patina. Turning the pendant over and holding it to the light reveals and highlights the image of the Thunderbird. An integrated hand-forged copper bail curves gently over the front and will accommodate virtually any leather, metal or beaded chain you may already have. The pendant arrives strung on an 18" suede leather cord with a wire-wrapped handmade copper "S" clasp. The height noted below is measured from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pendant. A jewelry care guide is included with every purchase and returns are hassle-free. Click the add to cart button and claim this amulet as your own today!
